CONSERVING FUEL: USEFUL TIPS



According to the U.S. Department of Energy gas prices have jumped up roughly 250% in the last 5 years.  There have certainly been some declines here and there - but nothing really significant.


 


A lot of us breathe a sigh of relief when we hear that fuel prices are on their way down...but we also realize that as easily as they can go down - they can go back up again.  The scariest thing of all is that we realize we are virtually powerless.  Let's face it- if prices jumped up 500% we would still be forced to pay them - if we are still intent on driving our fuel-dependant cars of course.


 


Here are some tips for Disciplined People:


 



  • "Shop" for gasoline on the Internet.  You can compare prices this way.
  • Change your lifestyle.  Ex:  take shorter-distanced vacations.
  • Drive less
  • Cut out unnecessary expenses:  eating out, buying fancy clothes, etc.
  • Take public transportation.
  • Buy a hybrid - probably the most appealing of all these.
